The client: A global tech consulting firm
The client is a fast-growing and global player in the digital transformation space, having enabled several organizations around the world to modernize themselves.
The client engaged the interior design services of Skootr Global Design for its new office, sprawling over 5400 SQM, located in Hyderabad. The choice of Skootr was for its unique ability to create dynamic and hybrid workspaces.
The primary design objective in the larger corporate sense was to motivate and attract employees back to the office after the Covid-induced, work-from-home hiatus.
A global technology consulting firm that enables organizations to modernize through digital transformation. With data as the new currency, the client helps transform long-term outcomes with a strategy in mind around happiness, health, and economy.
Design framework: Excitement with corporate flair
Skootr’s design approach was to create a workspace that enhanced the sense of community, work-life balance, passion, health, and safety, in that order.
The challenge was to infuse excitement into the overall mix while retaining corporate flair.
The design team’s space plan matrix is reflected in the mapping of micro-clusters or neighbourhoods for a variety of working scenarios like workstations, collaboration zones, formal & informal meeting areas, break-out zones, quiet zones, refuge areas, phone booths, and more.
These were proportionately dispersed across the entire floorplate. All decisions were informed by an underlying principle of efficiency and cohesiveness.
Execution: Design with Biophilia, LEED and WELL standards
The design team diligently the planned agenda. The objective was not only to deliver an aesthetically and functionally well-designed project but also to identify ways in which various elements would impact and enhance the working environment.
Biophilic elements such as natural water features and an abundance of live plants with plenty of thematic artwork and wall murals were installed. Likewise, industry standards such as LEED and WELL for sustainability and employee wellness were incorporated.
The overall mix evokes curiosity, visual layering, ease of access, and control over the working set-up to enhance productivity, collaboration, and belongingness in the work culture.
As the plan had multiple intersecting elements, the floor design had to gel with the post-modern colour palette and materials. The team chose Shaw Contract’s Community, Canopy, and Simply By Nature collections to add depth and diversity to the otherwise standard offering in the corporate fit-out designs.
Net result: Minimalist & functional excellence
The new workspace matched and even exceeded the expectations set. It is a vibrant and playful space befitting the prestige of a rapidly growing MNC and a magnet for young software enthusiasts.
In short, the new office showcases refined minimalism and functional excellence.
