CDPQ is a global investment group rooted in Quebec, Canada, with 300 billion dollars in assets in all majors markets across the world. Representing funds of depositors that includes the pensions of millions of Quebecers, CDPQ is in the business of investing long term money into sustainable assets. Via Design identified three key characteristics to define the design envelope for CDPQ's offices in New Delhi - the Canadian heritage, the global presence, and the long-term perspective CDPQ brings to its business. These elements converge to provide a design that is friendly and welcoming like the Canadians themselves, global in its vocabulary, and timeless in eschewing trendy motifs in favor of a more nuanced and enduring aesthetic. The offices embody quiet sophistication and understated luxury, creating an environment that nurtures deep work. Open-plan height-adjustable workstations promote flexibility & wellbeing, while enclosed cabins and conference rooms offer privacy and focus when needed. The social hub, complete with a café and lounge area, provides employees with a welcoming space to recharge and connect informally with colleagues. The design palette embraces clean lines, overlaid on a pastel color scheme with occasional highlights of earth tones. Carefully curated accents of artworks and hand woven rugs add a touch of elegance and sophistication. Indian textures in select fabrics and rugs create a subtle local context as does the expansive use of terrazzo flooring that recalls popularity of the material in Indian residences. This project has significantly contributed to each of the four 'People Together Planet Forever'- Material Health, Circular Economy, Carbon Impact, and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion - creating a harmonious balance between people and the planet. Use of non-toxic and natural materials prioritizes the health and well-being of the occupants, creating a safe and nurturing work environment. The conscious approach extends to the utilization of high-quality, durable furniture and materials, the need for constant replacements is minimized, reducing waste and contributes to the circular economy. Energy-efficient lighting, occupancy sensors and less carbon-heavy materials minimizes the carbon footprint. We created an inclusive workspace that celebrate and accommodate the needs and identities of all users. It also creating multipurpose and adaptable spaces that can be used by a diverse range of groups and individuals. By choosing collaboration over isolation, and sustainability over waste, we created a workspace that is as kind to our planet as it is conducive to innovation and success. It is an oasis – a space where productivity flourishes, creativity thrives, and the environment breathes a sigh of relief.
