Amsterdam, The Netherlands

The Dutch Air Traffic Control (LVNL) has implemented new air traffic control systems and wanted to renovate part of their building to align with their sustainability ambitions. In collaboration with LVNL, HEVO, a project management and consultancy firm, developed a comprehensive accommodation plan and formulated a vision named "A Sustainable Workplace for Sharing." Sustainability serves as a cornerstone of LVNL's accommodation vision.

HEVO, in collaboration with Annekoos Littel, an interior design agency specialised in workspace design, shaped a new accommodation concept for LVNL's pilot project on the third floor of the building. The design covered all aspects, from structural work to the finest accessories, encompassing an approximate area of 1000 m2.
In line with LVNL's sustainability ambitions, the selection of flooring played a crucial role in the overall accommodation concept. To create zones with different colours and styles while maintaining harmony, LVNL opted for the iconic Dye Lab collection in Fustic Saxon, combined with Haven carpet tiles in the Honest and Familiar styles, from Shaw Contract.

The chosen carpet tiles from Shaw Contract align perfectly with LVNL's sustainability objectives. Manufactured in a carbon-neutral facility, these carpet tiles contribute to reducing the carbon footprint associated with their production. Shaw Contract utilises EcoSolution Q100®, a 100% recycled yarn, in the manufacturing process of these carpet tiles, further enhancing their eco-friendly attributes.
Both the Dye Lab and Haven carpet tile collections installed in LVNL's pilot project are Cradle-to-Cradle certified. This certification ensures that the materials used in the carpet tiles are safe for human and environmental health, while also promoting material recycling and responsible manufacturing practices.

Additionally, Shaw Contract's commitment to sustainability is exemplified by their closed-loop re[TURN] Reclamation Program. This program allows for the responsible recycling of used carpet tiles, contributing to a circular economy and minimising waste.
By selecting Shaw Contract's sustainable carpet tiles, LVNL not only achieved its sustainability goals but also added a touch of style and colour variation to the workspace, creating a visually appealing and harmonious environment.

Haven Collection

Traditional wisdom tells us there’s no place like home. It’s a universal truth. But what if home was not simply a place but a state of mind? The Haven collection reimagines home as a mood, an idea, a quality of comfort and familiarity that feeds our instinctual desire to feel grounded in the world.

Dye Lab Collection

Shaw Contract revisited the iconic Dye Lab collection with an updated palette unfolded with intensely saturated hues, softer washes, and a wider range of neutral tones. Dye Lab tile draws inspiration from natural dyes, including madder root, Osage orange, sandalwood, and Saxon, and mimics the colour shifts rendered in naturally dyed textiles, creating an elegant and unpredictable visual. Dye Lab brings lush intimacy or expansive boldness to the spaces where we work, rest and come together.
