Case study: Floor Architecture III
Stirling House – Cambridge Innovation Parks
Cambridge, United Kingdom
Stirling House naturally offers an airy and spacious co-working surrounding, so the design team naturally took this into consideration and designed focusing on materials and decisions that spoke volumes encouraging connection and collaboration. Layrd Design team has focused on creating space that is both user-friendly and promotes wellbeing.
Biophilic design principle allowed to emphasise on the integration of natural elements into built environment ensuring a vibrant and inviting working oasis for businesses in residence and equally welcoming to visitors at Cambridge Innovation Parks.
The creative team selected Shaw Contract Floor Architecture III collection for the flooring solution across all social areas, pairing the same carpet tile style in three different neutral colourways. The soft muted tones, inspired by natural elements, create a sense of warmth, making them an ideal match for the comfortable space. Subtle undertone hues evoke a sense of earthiness, while the texture reflects grains and organic flow. This connection to nature establishes a calming and organic aesthetic.
Floor Architecture III is well-regarded and proven over time. In 2023, collection was re-introduced with additional colour groups to the neutral and grey spectrum and continues to remain a strong presence in Shaw Contract product offering as a standalone collection. Innovative collection offers endless options to transform spaces with three styles available in twenty-seven thoughtfully crafted colours – from Saturated, Pastel and Subtle Colour Accents.
Made in the UK in a carbon-neutral manufacturing plant in Scotland, the product is optimised for low embodied carbon and is carbon neutral. It is Cradle-to-Cradle® certified, Indoor Air Comfort Gold® certified, and available on all three backings: EcoWorxS®, TaskWorx®, and ComforWorx®.
The design of Stirling House social spaces enhances functionality, with increased facilities to cater to anyone who wants to utilise Stirling House as an innovation epicentre. Showcasing an excellent project of spaces bringing teams together.
