Office Refurbishment
The newly refurbished office space of one of the UK’s market leaders for Credit Reports in Truro, Cornwall entrusted Shaw Contract for flooring finishes.
Defining space of the office was entrusted to capable hands of Morgan Lovell, led by their Lead Designer Pino Catalano. The selection process was influenced by customers' preferences for visual appeal and UK Made collections, supporting local manufacturing. Consequently, the final flooring choices harmoniously complement the overall aesthetic of the space.
Nordic luxury vinyl flooring was installed throughout the office, with Carpet Tile details from Kindred and Haven collections applied in meeting spaces and collaboration zones.
The Shaw Contract Nordic LVT in 5.0 mm loose lay range defined majority of the Check My File office adding additional layer of flow in a herringbone installation. The choice of colour in the Nordic palette – on-trend Alder wood tone brings a subtle warmth to the space while retaining some definition to create the look and feel of a fine-grain wood effect flooring. Alder’s fit with contemporary designs is the key reason for its popularity spreading across regions.
The different Carpet tile pattern combinations defined meeting zones and spaces. Indicating a change in functionality within the office – A change from organic forms through to a more geometric design feature. But each one remaining loyal to colour path unity across the workspace floor adding to the overall aesthetic and collaboration.
The Kindred collection brings together a soft transition between technological and organic forms in the modern workplace. The collection enabled designers to create dynamic spaces within each installation. These styles are designed to support pattern interplay by providing a choice of contrast and scale, effectively bridging the transition between the Nordic LVT and Carpet.
Kindred in symbiosis with Haven evokes the feeling of home in the workplace, by enriching the space with versatile, textile-inspired patterns. The Shaw Contract Kindred Collection contributes to an enhanced spaces and aligns with Check My File overall atmosphere.
While the client focus was primarily aesthetic, the design incorporates both Morgan Lovell and Shaw Contact’s united vision for innovation and sustainability values. Both Carpet tile collections are Made in the UK, Cradle to Cradle Certified®, Carbon Neutral, part of Shaw Contract’s re[TURN]TM Reclamation Programme and Air Comfort Gold Certified®.
