Stikeman Elliot is an esteemed Canadian law firm, providing a wide array of legal services with a reputation for excellence and industry expertise. With offices across the country, the Calgary firm located in Bankers Hall was looking to attract its employees back to the office and retain them post-covid - while discovering new ways of working within the legal industry. They turned to Kasian to develop a new workplace that would evoke their brand and culture with a focus on the employee and client experience. The concept for the firm’s new Calgary office space was derived from the infamous Ritz-Carlton hotel. The desired essence of the space was to embrace a sense of refined luxury with a focus on sophistication, timeless elegance, attention to detail and most importantly, warm hospitality for their clients and staff alike. This space blends workplace, hospitality and high-end residential design typologies, resulting in a modern space that is both hospitable and equitable, exuding excellence to the firm’s employees, clients and stakeholders. Stikeman Elliot's new office in Calgary, Alberta, embodies Shaw Contract's ambition for Material Health, Circular Economy and Carbon Impact through its thoughtful selection of finishes. The architectural finishes throughout the space are durable and sustainable, aligning with Shaw’s circular economy ethos by minimizing waste and maximizing longevity. The use of glass and solid surface countertops reduces carbon impact through efficient manufacturing processes and low environmental footprints and the incorporation of non-toxic wallcoverings demonstrates a dedication to utilizing environmentally friendly materials. Furthermore, the selection of Shaw Contract's carpet tiles and broadloom in various areas of the office emphasizes sustainability and durability, contributing to a healthier indoor environment and reducing the environmental impact associated with traditional flooring materials. This space demonstrates a commitment to creating an inclusive environment that prioritizes the diverse needs of both employees and clients – aligning with Shaw Contract’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion ambition.
