Behind the Design
"The intersection of design & functionality. We partnered with Egis and Inhabit with the brief to create a workplace that they could come together and collaborate in while keeping the character elements of the building preserved. This workplace was designed for every element to be harmoniously integrated to inspire creativity and foster collaboration.
As we were working with one client with two businesses that come together to collaborate often, we workplace was designed with two kitchens, flexible feature boardrooms, separate working zones, and a range of different collaboration zones.
We created these contemporary insertions that don’t impede with the heritage characteristics of the building itself and preserved the existing timber beams and perimeter brickwork." - Archway
With over 250sqm of recycled ironbark timber flooring and the thoughtful use of natural light, this workplace seamlessly blends aesthetics with purpose and creates an environment that stimulates productivity.
The space has been designed to harness the abundance of natural light to create a pleasant and productive work environment. Work zones have been placed along the perimeter to take advantage of this natural light. Greenery has been added in the work zones as well as in the contemporary insertions where the kitchens, flexible boardroom and collaboration spaces are located, adding a biophilic element that helps bring the outside environment to the space within.
The design fosters collaboration and inclusivity, accommodating various working styles and needs. The preservation of the building’s character elements alongside modern functional spaces ensures that the workplace is welcoming and accessible to all team members, promoting a diverse and inclusive environment.
Over 250sqm of recycled ironbark timber was used as flooring throughout the workplace. This approach reduces waste and promotes the reuse of materials, thereby extending the lifecycle of resources and decreasing the environmental footprint for this project.

Traditional wisdom tells us there’s no place like home. It’s a universal truth. But what if home was not simply a place but a state of mind? The Haven collection reimagines home as a mood, an idea, a quality of comfort and familiarity that feeds our instinctual desire to feel grounded in the world.
