The inspiration for the design for RMRF was to create an end-user experience (for both staff and clients) that aligns with the primary drivers of comfort and connection. After they arrive in the firm's lobby and move in through the reception & meeting spaces, clients should feel the same sense of welcoming and emotional response that they would if they had checked-in to a high-end hotel - in other words, the exact opposite of the stress and tension that normally accompanies a visit to one's lawyer. Similarly, through the creation of thoughtful gathering spaces and the strong use of organic textures and materials, staff feel nurtured and supported in their endeavours. All materials and details have been selected to ensure a restorative environment for all space-users is achieved. The flooring selections for RMRF are very representative of the overall material choices within the project that emphasize all four of these ambitions. "Material Health" & "Circular Economy" are expressed through the use of eco*worx carpet tiles and non-ortho-phthalate resilient products. Similarly, the incorporation of eco*solution nylon in all of the carpet selections results in a carbon neutral product to align with the third ambition "Carbon Impact." "Diversity, Equity & Inclusion" is a little more challenging to capture as ambition solely achieved through the aforementioned material selections, but a foundational driver of the design was to create equal access to the full design palette and amenity spaces for all end-users of the space, promoting the sense of connection, belonging and equality for everyone.
