Project Description

African Guarantee Fund’s is an organization whose mandate is to enable SMEs access finances which in turn helps them drive the growth of African economies. The AGF Building architecture epitomizes green building practices. The building's orientation maximizes on solar passive heating and cooling. Longer facades (livable spaces face NS and the shorter facades (services) face E-W. Sunshade openings provide natural lighting and ventilation throughout the building minimizing greenhouse gas emissions associated with operational energy consumption. The interior spaces echo the outdoors and embodies the simplicity in material palette selection resulting in light and airy interior spaces. Earth tones combined with vibrant splashes of colour African motifs, textures and finishes project calmness and bring out a feeling of nature within the office spaces. Greenery in the interior increase oxygen levels reintroduces nature to the occupants and gives a relaxing and organic interior. Materials used in the interiors are porcelain tiles around the reception area, lumi wooden slates, glazed partitions, clay bricks wall cladding, veneered MDF, carpet tiles to enhance acoustic properties and comfort, and Indoor plants render the interior spaces sophisticated, warm and inviting. Selection of fixtures and fittings was carefully done to align the end product with the green sustainability agenda with is a backbone upon which most decisions were made.
