Descripción del Proyecto

The inspiration behind the Upper West Side Condos prioritizes users through the power of design by seamlessly blending elements of nature with contemporary luxury. The design team drew inspiration from the serene landscape of the neighbouring town outside Toronto, aiming to create a sanctuary where residents could feel connected to both their urban lifestyle and the natural environment. By incorporating nature-inspired design elements, such as reclaimed brick and pops of greenery, the space fosters a sense of tranquility and well-being. With an emphasis on prioritizing wellness and community-oriented amenities, this project also fosters a strong sense of belonging and diversity to contribute to a more equitable community. A social lounge, wellness center, co-working area, and party room act as extensions of the home, encouraging interaction among residents and their guests. Thoughtful design touches further enhance the overall atmosphere, creating spaces that not only meet but exceed the expectations of its residents. To carry this connection to nature up through the 14-storey tower, every residential hallway features a backlit transparency showcasing different vantage points of trees, reflecting a journey through the tree canopy as you move up the floors. The Shaw Contract Mist carpet, reminiscent of a country lane on a rainy day with its ethereal, misty watercolor aesthetic, carries the soothing narrative of tranquility across every floor. This design ensures every resident has a unique yet connected experience, enhancing their overall quality of life through thoughtful design and attention to detail. The Upper West Side Condos project has significantly contributed to the "People Together Planet Forever" ambitions in various impactful ways. In terms of Material Health, the project prioritizes responsible design and the use of reclaimed materials, such as locally sourced brick from derelict farmhouses, promoting healthy, sustainable environments while minimizing waste and reducing the environmental impact of new material production. By adopting a closed-loop approach to sustainability, the project supports the Circular Economy ambition. This is evident through the repurposing of materials and the integration of nature-inspired design elements, which reduce resource consumption and waste generation, exemplifying long-term environmental stewardship and responsible urban development. The project also fosters Diversity, Equity & Inclusion by creating an inclusive environment with community-oriented amenities that encourage interaction and social cohesion. This inclusive design promotes accessibility and nurtures a sense of belonging among residents from diverse backgrounds, contributing to a more equitable society. Furthermore, the project reduces Carbon Impact by focusing on energy efficiency and the use of renewable energy. Innovative design solutions, such as energy-efficient lighting and digital fireplaces, help reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions. By mitigating its carbon footprint and promoting renewable energy practices, the Upper West Side Condos plays a vital role in the global effort to combat climate change and create a more sustainable future. And finally, by proactively addressing the residents’ needs and partnering with companies like Shaw Contract that prioritize environmental responsibility, the project's impact is further enhanced by extending sustainability practices across the supply chain. Overall, the Upper West Side Condos project sets a precedent for sustainable and inclusive urban development, aligning with the ambitions of Material Health, Circular Economy, Carbon Impact, and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion.
