The renaissance of the site provided Studio 103 with a unique opportunity to celebrate and explore some significant architectural influences in approaching the design for Tenancy 1 and Tenancy 2 of the Level 16 office fitouts. Studio 103’s design intent was led by the iconic shapes, textures, patterns and forms of the building’s Venetian architecture. Our goal was to create two contrasting, immersive spaces, which would envelope the user upon arrival. The earthy Venetian sunrise and its romantic, dusky sunsets were the main inspiration towards developing the schemes for each Tenancy – “Alba” & “Tramonto”. The contrasting schemes and bold palettes aimed to impress a memorable experience for all who journey through, and to generate impact. “Alba” creates a real sense of neighbourhood, with its streetscape-style pathway connecting each zone of this tenancy. The earthy Herringbone paved flooring, luxurious Dye Lab carpet & combination of rich textures along with the bold addition of soft pinks, imitates a stroll through the colourful laneways of Venice – opening out to the alfresco-style breakout space at its end. “Tramonto” sets the scene of the epic St Mark’s square, as the sun is setting on age-old architecture. Deep teals, blues & pops of burnt orange reference the cobblestoned streets & stunning gothic buildings of the famous Italian city, surrounded by water. Bold contrast of colour is reminiscent of the glorious shards of setting sunlight, which play off stained-glass windows & stony streets.
