In China, "Flower Drum" is known as a traditional dance famous for its beauty and elegance. In Melbourne, it is a Chinese restaurant that displays the same elements of refinement and delicacy through its fine dining Cantonese cuisine and delicate service. Flower Drum the restaurant, is a place that believes in combining great food, wine and impeccable service for a unique dining experience for their guests each and every time. Flower Drum wanted to create a fresh offering for their clients by adding an intimate front bar to its existing space. Integral to the design was that the bar remain in keeping with their reputation as one of Melbourne’s most premium & traditional Chinese restaurants. The key requirement for the new bar was to ensure it felt as though it had always been there – a vibrant space, exuding the ambience of the restaurant itself. Gestures to traditional Chinese & oriental design complete the bar, along with timber screens & glazed brick tiles from the existing lounge space. A modern bar addition to a very authentic Chinese restaurant creates a new dinning experience for all their guests.
